Bhubaneswar: A day after quitting Congress former Lok Sabha member Bibhu Prasad Tarai joined BJP on Thursday at party's State Headquarters here in presence of senior leader Biswa Bhusan Harichandan and national spokesperson Baijayant Panda.

Tarai, who had been given the Tirtol assembly seat ticket by Congress, had tendered his resignation from the primary membership of Odisha Congress yesterday alleging irregularities in ticket allocations.

He had expressed his displeasure over Congress fielding Arindam Sarkhel alias Bapi Sarkhel from the Paradip assembly constituency alleging the party has given ticket to a criminal.
