Former Congress MLA Jogesh Singh Joins BJD

Bhubaneswar: Former Congress MLA Jogesh Singh today formally joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) along with his supporters from Sundargarh assembly constituency.

Singh joined the party in presence of BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The joining programme was held at the BJD State Headquarters here.

Welcoming Jogesh Singh and his supporters to BJD, Naveen Patnaik said that his joining will strengthen the BJD organization in Sundargarh district.

Jogesh also in his speech praised a lot Naveen Patnaik as the best administrator and No 1 Chief Minister of India.

In his media reactions, Jogesh Singh said that he as a public representative opted to join BJD for the development of Sundargarh.

Earlier to his joining, Jogesh had been suspended from the party on disciplinary grounds prior to the visit of Congress president Rahul Gandhi to Odisha on January 25. Coincidentally, he joined BJD when Rahul Gandhi in on his Odisha tour once again today.

In protest, Jogesh had resigned from Congress and also from the Assembly as Sundargarh’s sitting MLA.

Jogesh is the second former Congress MLA after former Jharsuguda MLA Naba Kishore Das who joined BJD quitting the grand old party.
