Food Safety Officials Inspect Summer Drink Stalls In Odisha's Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: With the advent of summer, various soft drink stalls have mushroomed in Cuttack which has forced the local administration to take measures for safeguarding health of the citizens.

As per the direction of District Collector and Health Officer, food safety officials are carrying out inspection of all 'Lassi' and 'Sherbet' stalls in the city.

The officials are also increasing awareness among the stall owners as they are preparing the drinks in an unhygienic manner and also using stale curd.

If any such stalls are found preparing drinks in unhygienic way, action will be taken against them as per Food Safety & Standards Act, said Food Safety Officer of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC), P.K. Pradhan.

He further informed that people are also being made aware to check their drinks carefully before consuming it. If they find any defects in it they can immediately contact the Health department or Health Officer after which action will be taken against the erring stall owner, he added.
