Five Including Ola Driver Held One Month After Failed ATM Loot Bid In Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: Five persons, including an Ola cab driver, were arrested by Sadar Police and court forwarded today on the charge of attempting to loot cash from a TATA Indicash ATM located at the market complex in Bentkar under 42 Mauza of Cuttack.

Reportedly, Ola driver Sudarsan Mallick along with his associates Sahil alias Sidhi Swarup Raul, Vicky alias Rajesh Kumar Gahana, Anil Kumar Behera and Raja alias Anshuman Abhijeet Sahu had attempted to loot the ATM on night of October 12, but could not be successful due to heavy iron chest of the machine.

Following it, ATM Officer of Tata Communications Payment Solutions Limited (TCPSL) lodged a complaint at the Sadar police station. During course of investigation, police was able to establish the identities of the accused and nabbed them.

Six mobile phones, one gas cylinder, one gas cutter, two gas pipes, one HCL Laptop, one lady money purse containing coins, 400 grams of silver ornaments, one Sony camera and one Hyundai Xcent car bearing number OD-02AR-1513 have also been seized from their possession.

They were found to be previously involved in a case registered at Sadar police station on July 31.
