First Of Its Kind Skatathon Held In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: First of its kind 'Rotary Skatathon 2019' with a unique theme 'Rebuild Bhubaneswar, Plant Trees' was held here on Saturday to spread awareness on restoring the green cover in the capital city of Odisha, which was recently devastated by Cyclone FANI.

Organised by Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar, the skating rally saw participation by about 72 children and youth in the age group of 5-40 years. It also witnessed hundreds of parents and spectators, arousing interest of all.

The rally was flagged off by BMC Commissioner Samartha Verma from Sikharchandi gate at 6:30 AM and concluded at Rotary Bhawan at about 8 AM. At the end children were given certificates and parents were given saplings.

Among others, Past District Governor (PDG) Rotarian D N Padhi, District Governor Elect (DGE) Rotarian Debasish Mishra, ADGP Pranabindu Acharya and President of Rotary Club Bhubaneswar Tanmay Mohanty graced the event.
