Bhubaneswar: Police Commissionerate of Twin City today notices to five cinema halls ordering them to halt screening of films. The cinema halls in question are Swati, Stutee, Maharaja and Keshari in Bhubaneswar and Brundaban in Cuttack

According to reports, these theatres have not obtained the No-Objection Certificate from Odisha Fire Services due to which the renewal of their licences is pending.

In February this year, the Orissa High Court had asked these cinema halls to get the NOCs from the Fire Services department. A petition was filed in the Orissa High Court in 2015 seeking fire safety audit of cinema halls in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
