Bhubaneswar: The State Government will be organising a fair for promoting agriculture and farming related activities - 'Krushi Odisha', which will be held at Janata Maidan from January 20 to 24.
Krushi Odisha will focus on the participative role of cooperative and nationalised banks, Panchayats and women in the farming sector. January 21 will be observed as Cooperative and Banking Day, January 22 as Panchayati Raj People's Representative Day and January 23 as Women's Day during the five-day event.
More than 500 bankers will be attending a special conference at Krushi Odisha to be held on January 22. The fair will aim at recognising the role of farmers and agriculture in our society. As many as 228 stalls will be setup by around 112 companies from India and abroad.
Workshops and seminars on new technologies and innovations in farming sector will be held at Krushi Odisha this year. There will be discussions on the environment, water resources, addressing farming issues, market linkage for value-added products, and value-chain management in agriculture, profitable agriculture and role women SHGs.
There will be round table discussions among agriculture scientists, agriculture students and farmers. The farmers' convention will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal will be the chief guest at the concluding ceremony.
