Bhubaneswar: The iconic Jagannath Temple in holy town of Puri has suffered damages because of cyclone Fani which hit Odisha on May (Friday). The Indian Oil has offered a donation of Rs 5 crore towards the restoration of the 11th century shrine.
The oil major announced the donation on Tuesday and stated that apart from this, Indian Oil team is engaged in disaster outreach in affected areas by fueling of DG sets engaged in restoration of power supply, road cutting and erection of dismantled telephone towers.
The cyclone FANI adversely affected electricity supply and telecommunication in several coastal areas of Odisha. Puri and Khurda districts were the worst hit.
