Dhenkanal: Faiz Rahman, the Founder of Good News India (GNI), who has been arrested in connection with alleged sexual harassment of minor girls at the organisation's Dhenkanal-based Dream Center (children home), was sent to judicial custody today after end of his remand period. His bail hearing has been deferred to December 12.

Rahman was produced before the special POCSO Court in Dhenkanal today, following end of his remand period, from where he was sent to judicial custody after his bail hearing was deferred as police failed to submit the case diary.

On the other hand, Dhenkanal Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan informed that the said Dream Center situated at Beltikri in Dhenkanal will not be reopened anytime soon. As the Dream Centre is functioning as a hostel, it cannot be called a shelter home and therefore does not come under the purview of Juvenile Justice Act, asserted the Collector.

Further decision in this regard will be taken after police investigation, he added.
