Soro (Balasore): Protesting against the renomination of sitting BJD MLA Parsuram Dhada, former Soro MLA Surendra Prasad Pramanik and others resigned from BJD today.

In a resignation letter jointly signed by all the local BJD leaders and addressed to BJD president Naveen Patnaik, they have vehemently opposed to the candidature of sitting BJD MLA Parsuram Dhada.

Besides Pramanik, the others include Soro assembly constituency BJD president, five Sarpanchs, two Samiti Members, former Sarpanch, former Samiti Member, Ward Member and hundreds of BJD workers.

Notably on March 20, 2014, Surendra Prasad Pramanik had joined BJD when he was not re-nominated by the Congress for the Soro assembly seat. He had earlier been elected as Soro MLA as a Congress candidate in 2009.
