Ex-CM J.B. Patnaik’s Son Prithvi Ballabh Not To Contest Odisha Poll, Begunia Congress Candidate Changed

Bhubaneswar: Even though All India Congress Committee (AICC) had already announced his candidature for the Begunia Assembly seat, former Chief Minister of Odisha late Janaki Ballabh Patnaik’s son Prithvi Ballabh today declined to be in the upcoming general polls.

This was informed by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik today and soon after that another AICC list was released on the day following which Begunia Assembly seat’s Congress candidate is Pradeep Sahoo now.

The OPCC chief informed that Prithvi Ballabh declined to make his maiden electoral foray citing personal reasons.

Notably, Prithvi Ballabh is the scion of late Janaki Ballabh Patnaik, the then Odisha Congress stalwart-cum-Chief Minister as well as ex-Governor of Assam.
