Cuttack: In view of the ensuing election to the various posts of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), Bihar’s former Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) M.L. Majumdar has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the significant poll.

The election will be held for the five coveted posts starting from President and Secretary.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has directed the OCA to complete the election process by September 14.

Speaking to media, Majumdar said that he would lay stress on free and fair election.

In his media reactions, OCA Election Officer M.L. Majumdar said, “I arrived here just now. Let me go through the electoral roll prepared. My duty is to ensure that the election should be free and fair. There shouldn’t be any complaint. I’ll try my level best.”  

OCA Managing Committee president Dhiren Palai said, “Our Election Officer M. L. Majumdar joined today. We’ll discussion with him. The necessary file and guidelines of the BCCI will be handed over to him. As he is going put up here for two days, he’ll peruse the file. We want the election to be held as early as possible.”

“If it completes soon, we will be getting grant as FANI has wrecked havoc a lot. One Day Cricket is in near future. We have to take care of its arrangement. The new elected body is expected to work smoothly. Hence, we want that the election should be held at the earliest,” he remarked.
