EVM Glitches Leave Voters Disgruntled In Puri And Khurda

Bhubaneswar: A group of voters ransacked the polling booth no-222 in Bramhagiri alleging that the EVM was malfunctioning. According to reports, the voters had reported the matter to the presiding officer. They alleged that since the presiding officer gave a deaf ear to their complaints, they resorted to the act.

The disgruntled lot broke EVM machine, office stationery and chairs and desks at the polling centre. Force deployed at the booth rushed to placate the crowd following which the polling could resume.

Similar issues surfaced at Badapokharia panchayat in Khurda district where the EVM machines was reportedly not functioning for four hours. More than 500 voters at Nilagiripatna UP ME school (booth no - 128) demanded caused a stir demanding re-polling. According to sources, the EVM machines were replaced on three occasions at this booth.
