Ensuring Power & Telecom Services Restored At The Earliest In Puri District

Bhubaneswar: After holding a high level review meeting with the Odisha Government here at the State Secretariat, the Central Government team took stock of the post cyclone situation and ensured that power and telecommunication services in devastated Puri district are restored at the earliest.   

Talking to media, Central Power & Telecommunication Secretary Ajay Bhalla said, “We had a review meeting with the State Government, the Chief Secretary and all the others senior officers. We had a team from Telecommunication Ministry, from Banking and Power ministries with us. All the arrangements done till now or the helps which have been made in this handling of post impact of cyclone have been reviewed.”

He stated, “We are ensuring that power supply to Puri starts at the earliest. All the banks and their branches get connected. All the telecom services should be restored early.”

He further stated, “Restoring power and restoring towers which is taking time, but the percentage improvement is there from the day one. Many landline exchanges have been restored. Many of the towers are functional and the mobile towers by various service providers have been brought and installed. The percentage of restoration has improved.”
