Engineering Student Drowns Kushabhadra River In Odisha's Gop

Puri: A student of BTech second year, Sovik Nag drowned while taking bath on the bank of Kushabhadra river in Gop on Sunday.

Nag was a student at a private engineering college in Bhubaneswar and had come home to attend a function. He was a native of Bania Sahi in Gop Block of Puri district.

The youth was accompanied by his cousin to the river in the afternoon. Soon after he went missing a team of Fire Services personnel launched a rescue operation and traced Nag's body after two hours.

He was rushed to the local health centre where the doctors declared Nag dead. A pall of gloom descended in the village where 'Asta-Prahari', a religious event was being held.
