Bhubaneswar: After the completion of fourth and final phase of elections in Odisha, DG Police Dr RP Sharma expressed satisfaction over the overall conduct of the polling in all the phases.

Speaking to mediapersons today Dr Sharma said that adequate number of security personnel were provided by the Central Government and neighbouring staes like Telengana and Andhra Pradesh.

"Our priority was to ensure free fair and fair elections in a peaceful environment. We have been successful in accomplishing our mission," said Dr Sharma.

The big challenge for the State police now is to safegaurd the EVMs and VVPAT devices as the counting date approaches.

"A two layered security cover has been deployed for srtong rooms where the EVMs and VVPATs are stored. The inner circle has been guarded by Central Armed Forces and the outer ring is manned by personnel from Odisha police," the DGP added.
