Elections 2019: Naveen Patnaik Might Contest Assembly Polls From Western Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In the road ahead to Elections 2019, a major development was reported from Naveen Niwas here today morning as the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that he was considering to contest Assembly polls from Western Odisha.

He said, "Leaders, farmers, women and students of Western Odisha have requested me to contest from that region. I am considering this very seriously."

The CM's residence was flooded by leaders of Western Odisha today morning including Naba Das, Kishore Mohanty, Sanjeev Sahu, Dilip Tirkey and Rajendra Dholakia. Padma Shri awardee Haldhar Nag was also present there.

It is notable to mention here that Naveen Patnaik has contested from Hinjili in Ganjam four times and has won each time. This new development has come as a surprise, said many political analysts.
