Elderly Man Killed Over Collection Of Mahua Fruit In Odisha's Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: An elderly man was axed to death while he had gone to collect mahua fruit in Laikera area of Jharsuguda district on Thursday. 

Reportedly, 70-year-old Jagatram Bariha was collecting mahua fruit from a field when the owner of the field Tehsil Dharua (45) objected him. 

What started as an argument took a violent turn and Dharua attacked Bariha with an axe in which the latter sustained severe injuries on his neck and died on the spot. 

Meanwhile, Laikera police has detained Dharua and have initiated a probe into the incident.
