Elderly Couple Killed As Two Cars Collide Head-On In Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: An elderly couple was killed and four others injured following the head-on crash of two cars here on Saturday. The mishap took place near Jaripal village on old Cuttack-Sambalpur highway at around 4 pm.

The deceased were identified as Pratap Chandra Pattnayak and Lilabati Pattnayak of Patrapada in Bhubaneswar. They were going to Angul but met with the accident midway at Jaripal.

The injured persons, including a five-year-old minor boy have been shifted to the district headquarters hospital for treatment.

Police showed up at the spot following a traffic jam on the busy route. The bodies of the deceased were sent for autopsy.
