Bhubaneswar: As many as 47 MLAs have submitted invoices for reimbursement of cost of computers/laptops purchased by them for use in the House, informed Odisha Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro here today.
Patro further informed that bills furnished by law makers towards purchase of computers/laptops will be reimbursed by the State Assembly subject to a maximum limit of Rs One lakh.
MLAs have been informed about the top five brands and specification requirements suggested by National Informatics Centre (NIC) and our Information Technology department, he said.
The Speaker said that he has discussed with NIC for imparting training to legislators who are not familiar with computers, online data entry etc. Officials too would undergo training, he added.
Patro said that in-principle decision has been taken for implementing e-vidhan sabha and NIC has been entrusted with the job.
