Bhubaneswar: The House Committee of Odisha Assembly to study implementation of e-Vidhan met Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Rajeev Bindal today.
The House Committee led by Odisha Assembly Speaker Surya Narayan Patro was given a warm welcome on its arrival at Shimla, said a press note issued by the Assembly Secretariat here today.
The Committee will gather direct knowledge on computerization of Vidhan Sabha. Following a discussion between the Speakers of both the States, Committee members visited different branches of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly and discussed various aspects pertaining to implementation of e-Vidhan project.
Members of the Committee had a feel of the proceedings of the Himachal Assembly in session.
The members asked concerned officials on how Vidhan Sabha’s proceedings, questions and answers, bills, acts etc. were being made available online, the press note added.
Leader of the Opposition Pradipta Kumar Naik, Parliamentary Affairs and Forest & Environment Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh, Electronics & Information Technology and Sports & Youth Services Minister Tusharkanti Behera, Government Chief Whip Pramila Mallick, MLAs Taraprasad Bahinipati and Subhas Chandra Panigrahi, Assembly Secretary Dasarathi Satpathy and other officials are part of the delegation.
Notably, e-Vidhan is a sophisticated e-governance solution. It is a software suite of public website, secure website, house applications and mobile apps that fully automate the functioning of legislative assembly and significantly minimize paper usage with online communication.
