Durga Puja In Bhubaneswar: 30 Platoons Police Force To Maintain Security & Safety

Bhubaneswar: There will be total 174 'medhas' in the Capital City this year on Durga Puja. All the Puja committees have taken clearances from the single window licensing cell of Police Commissionerate, DCP Anup Sahoo said.

Total 30 platoons force will be deployed around the city during the puja days. A special arrangement has been done to ensure smooth traffic movement during the Durga Puja. To check the activities of anti-social elements during the festival, both uniformed police personnel and cops in civil dress will be patrolling the pandals.

There will be ‘Ravan Podi’ at five places in Bhubaneswar this time. The DCP said that a police team will visit these spots and conduct field verification for safety. Public will be there beyond 100 metres from the place of the Ravan Podi.

“There is a strict restriction on sound, DJs and music during the puja and immersion ceremony. We have discussed this matter with the Puja Committees and they all have agreed to abide by this directive,” said Sahoo.
