Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik turns 73 on Wednesday. However, there will be no birthday celebrations for Naveen, one of the most successful Chief Ministers of the country.

In a message to his supporters, partymen and people of the State, Naveen urged not to spend time to travel to Bhubaneswar on the occasion of his birthday.

The Chief Minister said that he will not be celebrating his birthday for the destruction Odisha faced in deadly cyclone Fani.

“People of Odisha are my family and I am ever grateful to have their love affection and support. I request brothers and sisters of my State not to travel to Bhubaneswar to wish me on my birthday,” he said.

“Instead of coming to Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, please visit orphanages and schools for the disabled children and do some good work for the inmates.”

Naveen further said that people should dedicate important days in the year such as birthdays and wedding anniversaries for serving the underprivileged.

The Odisha CM expressed his happiness over the 'Jivan Bindu' blood donation programme organised by BJD on the occasion of his birthday.

“Children are the future of our nation. So, any effort towards their good will make me happy,” Naveen concluded.
