Diwali Murder: Two Accused Arrested By Commissionerate Police

Bhubaneswar: Two accused were arrested today by the Twin City Police Commissioner here concerning the murder case of one Amaresh Nayak who was killed in a group clash on Diwali night, said Police sources.

The accused arrested have been identified as Jagdish and Raghav, said Police sources.

Reportedly, on Diwali night on October 27, a dispute erupted between two locals groups over location of bursting firecrackers near Sundarpada area under Airfield Police limits. Around 12-15 people had attacked Amaresh and his friends and had left him in a bloodied state. He was immediately rushed to Capital Hospital, where the doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.

Previously, Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi had informed that the probe is underway and the accused will be nabbed soon. While some accused had been identified, they there in need of evidence. Family members and friends of Amaresh had been mounting pressure on the Police demanding immediate arrest of the accused.
