Dhenkanal: The founder of the children's home run by Good News India (GNI) always hugged and kissed the girls, revealed the cook of the controversial shelter home at Beltikiri in Dhenkanal here today morning.

Reportedly, some inmates of the children's home (called Dream Center) brought sexual abuse allegations against the in-charge Simanchal Naik and the Founder Faiz Rahman. Soon after that the in-charge Naik was arrested by the Dhenkanal cops today morning.

The cook Pitabas Digal said, “I have never seen Simanchal Naik (the in-charge) do anything to the girls but I have seen the owner Rahman Sahab hug and kiss the girls. He often visits and hugs the girls tightly. Foreigners also come to the ashram when there is big function. They too get cosy with the girls. I have been seeing all this for two years.”

Apart from Digal’s scandalous revelation, a confidential email from one Pramod Roul to all the directors of GNI shelter homes across the State has spilled even dirtier secrets.

The email strictly instructs the directors to be prepared for visits and checks from Child Welfare Committee (CWC), District Child Protection Unit and the police. The email lists some of the following shocking things:

1: Children should tell that they get chicken, fish and egg every week. They should also tell that food is tasty and good.

2: The children should say that they are well taken care of when they fall sick.

3: Regarding the intimacy of pastor with kids, children should say that pastor sits with us, asks us about studies, etc. When asked if pastor kisses and hugs them, the children need to totally refuse this.

4: Children should not elaborate on any past incident.

5: Children need to tell that they do not know anything about baptism program. The points 4 and 5 definitely prove that the GNI network has much more to hide than what meets the eye.

Reportedly, a joint team of Child Welfare Committee (CWC) officials and District Child Protection Unit yesterday (November 30) conducted raid at a children's home run by Good News India (GNI) at Beltikiri in Dhenkanal after receiving allegations of child abuse.

Meanwhile, Women & Child Development Minister Prafulla Samal has ordered the immediate shutting down of the institution and rehabilitation of the 62 inmates to the nearest secure child care institution.
