Dhenkanal Boat Tragedy: Third Body Recovered From Bramhani River

Dhenkanal: Two days after a boat carrying nine persons capsized in river Bramhani, the body of a passenger was recovered on Tuesday. With this, the death toll in the boat tragedy rose to two.

The deceased has been identified as Biswajit Acharya of Kundandeipur. His body was fished out today morning at Gengutia under Parjang police limits.

The boat with nine persons on board was travelling from Khadag Prasad to Kundandeipur on a swollen Brahmani river. Due to a flood-like situation the boat lost balance and capsized on September 7.

Out of the nine persons, five swam to the river bank while four went missing. Till Tuesday, the bodies of three persons have been recovered including Acharya.

The bodies of Bijay Nayak and Ramesh Sahu were recovered on Sunday and Monday respectively. Another passenger, Susant Sahu is yet to be traced.
