Bhubaneswar: In a new twist to the suicide case of the DAV student Tanya Banerjee, the Principal today admitted that some students had problems regarding the misplacement of some stuff on that particular day.

“It has come to my notice that some students came up with such complaint regarding misplacement of some stuff to the superintendant and it was resolved immediately,” said DN Mishra, the Principal of the DAV School of Business Management.

The parents have been alleging that their daughter was harassed by some hostel inmates accusing her of stealing their lipstick and shampoo. This may have caused her to take this drastic step of ending her life.

But, the hostel warden had completely denied this aspect on the first day when asked by the media persons. She had said that no such stealing or misplacement of cosmetic items had occurred in the hostel that day.

The police have interrogated 7 hostel inmates, the hostel warden, superintendant and the security guard during its investigation.

Notably, the parents of the deceased student had filed an FIR in the Capital Police Station demanding thorough investigation into the case and action against the girl hostel mates for allegedly abetting the suicide.
