Jharsuguda: A data entry operator posted at the Jharsuguda Tehsil Office was arrested by vigilance sleuths today for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a common man.

Reportedly, Kabi Charan Nayak had demanded the said amount from one Basudeb Mahanand when the latter had visited the Tehsil office several times to make corrections in a Records of Rights (RoR) document.

After being exploited, Mahanand knocked the door of the vigilance department following which a team led by the Vigilance DSP raided the tehsil office today and seized Rs 30,000 from Nayak’s possession and held him under graft charges.
