Bhubaneswar: Two chain snatchers were nabbed by public immediately after they targeted a woman, near Rasulgarh Square in Bhubaneswar, kudos to the daredevil act of her son.

Reportedly, the woman Manorama Ojha and her family had come to Bhubaneswar from Ratnagiri and were travelling in an auto-rickshaw to meet her sister residing at Bhagabat Sandhan Colony in Rasulgarh.

It was when the vehicle slowed down near a speed breaker three miscreants arrived on a white Apache and snatched her chain.

However, her son Subrat Ojha acted swiftly and jumped out of the auto-rickshaw. He caught hold of a miscreant from the back when they were attempting to flee from the spot.

Though Subrat was dragged along with the bike for few metres, he did not let go of the miscreants. As a result they lost control of the bike following which locals caught hold of two miscreants while one managed to escape.

On being informed, police arrived at the spot, took the miscreants into their custody and seized the bike.

As per eye witnesses, this is the second chain snatching incident in the area in last 24 hours. Yesterday evening some miscreants had snatched the chain of a woman while she was offering prayers with folded hands in front of the Hanuman Temple.
