Puri: As strong gusty winds have already picked up pace in Puri, district administration began evacuating tourists in special Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) buses today morning from Sea Beach Road here.

A total of 10 buses have been planned for the cause. While 4 buses have already left for the destination Howrah, bookings for 6 more buses are currently underway. Announcements via PA systems are also being made in the beach to inform the tourists and passengers about the special buses and trains.

The tickets have been set at subsidized rates of Rs 650 and Rs 700 for deluxe buses. Passengers’ comfort has also been kept the priority as the buses are Air Conditioned. It is notable to mention here that tourists had been advised to leave the heritage city in view of the impeding cyclone and hotels had also been directed to not take any booking between May 2-5.

On the other hand, three special trains by East Coast Railways (ECoR) will also run between Puri and Howrah today afternoon to evacuate passengers.
