Bhubaneswar: Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi informed today that Cyclone Fani is likely to make landfall between Puri and Kendrapara on evening of May 3rd. “Indian Meteorological Department is closely monitoring the situation and is giving us updates, he said.

“The exact place of impact has not been ascertained yet. We are still assessing how many people will be affected and accordingly we are making arrangements for cyclone centres and evacuation process. 20 ODRAF units, 335 fire services and 12 NDRF units are also kept ready,” he added.

Time to time all district collectors are being kept informed and precautions are being taken, he said.

It is notable to mention here that Odisha Government has always strived for a ‘zero-casualty’ during cyclones.
