Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi today confirmed 29 deaths across the State after the landfall of the ferocious Cyclone FANI in Odisha Coast on Friday.

“21 deaths have been reported from Puri so far and 8 other people in other districts. We are still collecting information and the official figure can be confirmed only after all the assessment has been done,” he said.

The identities of the deceased persons have not been shared by officials yet. Many people are also in the process of identifying dead bodies, stated sources.

As per reports, deaths have been reported from Bhubaneswar, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj and Jajpur as well. It is notable to mention here that many people were killed after coming under uprooted trees or getting hit by flying objects.
