Cyclone FANI Aftermath: Update On Water Supply Restoration In Bhubaneswar, Puri & Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: With war footing efforts, water supply has been restored in parts of Puri, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, informed an official press release by Housing & Urban Development Department on Tuesday.

In Puri, a total of 36 MLD (million litres per day) is required. By Tuesday morning, 24 diesel generators, 33 water tankers and 100 PVC tanks started supplying water to all the wards. In Bhubaneswar, against normal water supply of about 200 MLD, 184 MLD has already been accomplished with the help of 110 diesel generators, 136 water tankers and 600 PVC tanks.

In Cuttack, against the normal supply of 108 MLD, 85 MLD has been reached with the help of 59 generators, 36 tankers and over 150 PVC tanks. The sources assured complete water supply to Cuttack within 24 hours.

With no electricity and connectivity, the restoration of water supply has brought happiness on many distressed faces in the aftermath of Cyclone FANI.
