Bhubaneswar: To ensure safe restoration of domestic power supply, Odisha Government has decided to dispatch teams of ITI and Polytechnic students to each house in order to verify household LT line connections and address issues related to service line.

As there has been power outage in Bhubaneswar since last week, sudden restoration of electricity might cause voltage fluctuations and short-circuits in houses and other places with scattered service wires. Thus, around 500 nos of Electrical, ITI and Diploma holders shall be engaged at doorstep to sort out any such problems and expedite power restoration and ensure safety.

“These students are especially undergoing training in the trades of electrician and plumbing. They will be deployed in Bhubaneswar as well as Puri,” informed Sanjay Singh, I&PR Secretary. It is notable to mention here that such initiative had also been taken during Cyclone Phailin in Berhampur.
