Cyclone FANI Aftermath: Aid To Farmers Will Be Provided As Per Relief Code

Bhubaneswar: As massive damage of standing crop as well as horticultural produce have been reported from the districts affected by the recent Cyclone FANI, especially worst-affected Puri district, Odisha Agriculture Secretary today assured that assistance to the farmers will be given away in pursuance of the Relief Code of State Government.   

Talking to media at the State Secretariat here today, Agriculture Secretary Sourav Garg said, “We will be providing the assistance as per the norms of the Relief Code. Today is Akshaya Trutiya and the beginning of Kharif season. Hence, whatever is laid down in our programme, the requisite assistance, subsidy and inputs support will be provided to the farmers.”

“Crop damage report will be available with us from the cyclone affected districts in a day or two. Already general relief has been announced. For the crop loss, assistance will be given away as per the Relief Code,” he assured.

“We have detailed report on the standing crop. So verification will be done accordingly,” he stated.
