Cyclone Amphan: Landfall Near Sunderbans Late In The Evening, Next 5-6 Hrs Crucial

Bhubaneswar: Landfall is expected near Sunderbans in West Bengal between Digha and Hatiya Islands (Bangladesh) by late evening today, IMD Chief Mrutyunjaya Mohapatra said to OMMCOM NEWS.

Cyclone 'AMPHAN' lies 110kms from Paradip & is moving at a speed of 18-19kmph towards the north northeastern direction. At the place of the cyclone in Bay of Bengal, the wind speed is around 170-180 kmph.

As a result, at Paradip, the dollar recorded a wind speed of 102kmph. Bhubaneswar also experienced a wind speed of 55-65 kmph but now has decreased to around 40kmph.

According to Special Relief Commissioner Special Relief Commissioner PK Jena, the next  6-8 hrs are very crucial.
