Cuttack Preps Up For Immersion Of Maa Durga’s Idols

Cuttack: The silver city of Cuttack is all geared up to bid adieu to Maa Durga as Dusshera festivities come to an end with Bhasani or idol immersion to be executed today.

The Cuttack Commissionerate Police have made elaborate plans to give a smooth ending to the grand Durga Puja celebrations this year.

Updating media persons regarding the arrangements, Cuttack DCP Akhileshvar Singh said, “We have deployed 57 platoon forces with 6 platoon of Rapid Action Force to handle any kind of hostile situation. We have also made separate arrangements for handling traffic scenario. Necessary diversions and one-way regulations are also in force.”

“We have identified sensitive areas in the city and have put up 43 aid-posts who will be present to handle any kind of law and order or traffic situation. Additionally, there will be 16 pushing teams to control the rush on main routes. We are keeping a vigilant eye on the main route with the presence of officers in uniform and civil dress and full coverage of CCTV cameras.”

“The puja committees will have to follow the allotted time and routes as per their registration. They have already done the ‘Sahi parikrama’. There have been no adverse incidents till now and the Puja mood is very happy and gaiety. We heartily thank the denizens for their full cooperation and support,” said Cuttack DCP.
