Cuttack: On Christmas Eve the silver city is all decked up lying in wait for the birth of Jesus Christ. Decoration of barn is almost done, choir groups are ready and so are Christmas delicacies.
Speaking to OMMCOM NEWS regarding the chain of events today, Father Nihar Ranjan Paricha said, “As per our schedule, at 10 pm we all will congregate near the barn and sing carols welcoming Jesus Christ. At 10.30 we will go inside the church and celebrate the birth of Jesus. We will distribute cake and sing carols as baby Jesus descends onto earth.”
“This is a great day not just for Christians but the whole world when Lord steps into our lives and attempts to make pains of our life as his own and remove them,” Father added.
The barn can be seen decorated with guiding angel at top, with Mary and Joseph, the wise men, a shepherd boy, a donkey and a sheep in celebration of the beauty and wonder of a baby born in a manger on Christmas Day.
The Christmas story is the story of a royal baby being born into a barn where animals were fed and watered. Barns are usually a mess, and deep-down people are not usually neat and tidy either. The Christmas story is the story of God being willing to step into the mess and pain of our life so he could draw us closer to relieve us of our pains.
