Cuttack: Cycle Rally Conducted To Create Awareness For Pollution-Free Bali Jatra

Cuttack: The ‘Mo Cuttack Cycle Rally’ was held in the Silver City today to make Bali Jatra more beautiful, create conducive atmosphere in that area as well as preventing pollution, also to promote maximum uses of cycles instead of using motor vehicles during the period of Bali Jatra.

The rally was graced by Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, Kalpesh Satyendra Jhaveri, said the official communiqué by the Odisha State Legal Service Authority (OSLSA). Also present with him were Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani, Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Akhileshvar Singh, CMC Commissioner Ananya Das, members of the Legal Cell and several school students for highlighting the importance of healthy and pollution-free society.

Today’s event was organized by the Cuttack District Administration in association with CRUT(Capital Region Urban Transport) who supplied with 200 cycles and BMC(Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation) who supplied 150 cycles.

Expressing his happiness over the ‘good experience’, the honourable Chief Justice urged everyone to use cycles for Bali Jatra visit. He said, “This will not only reduce pressure on the management but people will enjoy the event more. We need to start working towards reducing the global warming from today (onwards).”

Cuttack Collector urged everyone to choose cycles or cycle rickshaws when visiting Bali Jatra. He said, “This will help in reducing pollution and in turn a pollution-free Bali Jatra.”
