Bhubaneswar: The State Government today announced that Trade Licence Certificate can be used as a valid document for un-hindered movement of goods transport vehicles carrying essential commodities.
According to a notification issued by the State Level Monitoring Unit on Goods and Services, the decision has been taken to ensure and maintain smooth supply of daily needs and essential commodities across the State.
Essential commodity traders, their vehicles and their personnel were being stopped by enforcement authorities during their movement which is causing disruption in availability of essential commodities. It has also been reported that after delivering the goods, upon return journey, the vehicles are being stopped and are not allowed to move.
Such phenomenon is more pronounced in the Urban areas. It is also learnt that in the Urban areas, trade licences are issued to the shopkeepers by the respective Urban Local Bodies. In order to resolve such bottleneck the aforementioned process has been granted approval, the notification stated.
The trade Licence holder shall photocopy the trade licence and on the reverse of the same shall certify with his signature and/or stamp the name of the person/s who have been employed by him for trade.
"In case of his vehicle such certificate shall be handed over to the driver/helper of the vehicle mentioning the vehicle number. The vehicle shall be allowed to move frely even in return journey and shall not be stopped or obstructed until any unlawful activity is noticed," the notification further read.
The employee concerned shall carry a valid id proof to enable police to ascertain the identity of such person. Police shall honour such document and allow uninterrupted movement of all such persons. SPs and field level officials have been asked to comply to the order.
