COVID-19: 103 Red Alert Cases In Odisha Violated Home Quarantine, Govt Initiates Strong Action

Bhubaneswar: A staggering 103 red alert cases have been identified by the State health department who have violated the restrictions of home quarantine. The State government has already initiated a strong action plan for containment of epidemic COVID-19, said top government sources.

The cases were identified by outbound call centre (OCC) set-up by Odisha Government for health assistance, information, guidance or registration in reference to novel coronavirus. As per the assessment of the call centre, 103 people have violated home quarantine guidelines.

Swinging into action, the State Government officials reportedly issued the following guidelines:

1. The respective District Magistrates were requested to cause a local enquiry tomorrow, i.e. on March 23 through Tehsildars. If local enquiry confirms the violation of quarantine guidelines, they are to inform local police in writing.

2. Local police must file cases as per law

3. Local administration may also take steps to shift them to government quarantine facilities.

4. Visible action and visibility of action in confirmed violations must be taken.
