Couple Goes Missing In Mayurbhanj, Daughters Suspect Murder Over Alleged Witchcraft

Mayurbhanj: While mystery shrouds the disappearance of a couple at Sitaram Sahi under Kaptipada police limits in Mayurbhanj district, their daughters suspect that they have been killed over alleged witchcraft.

Reportedly, Sitaram Singh and wife Leth Singh had gone to nearby Chhatramba village on Sunday to watch a football match. After the duo did not return home in the evening, their family members launched a search for them and discovered some drops of blood at a nearby field.

Other items including a shoe and broken bangles, suspected to be of the couple, were also found from the spot. Following it, the family members along with villagers launched a massive search drive but were unable to trace the couple.

On getting information, Kaptipada Police arrived at the spot and called for scientific team and dog squad from Baripada. It was after the police dog tracked a scent from the scene to Sunei Dam, another water search operation was launched with the help of fire personnel from Udala.

However, even after hours of search, they were not able to find any traces of the couple. On the other hand, Sitaram's daughters have alleged that their parents have been murdered. Some villagers few days back had attacked the couple allegedly over practising witchcraft. The daughters suspect that the same persons have killed their parents.
