Commissionerate Police Release Security Overview Ahead Of Zero Night

Bhubaneswar: Capital city is all set to turn into a fortress on New Year’s Eve with elaborate security arrangements to avoid any untoward incidents in the garb of revelry.

Anup Sahoo, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar, on Saturday spoke on the security arrangements. He said that places who are hosting New Year parties have already applied for permission. The Commissionerate Police have permitted under specific conditions which they have to abide by. They have been given permission only till midnight but no such restriction is for zero night parties.

He added, “Police officials will be deployed on main roads and at other prominent places in Bhubaneswar. Special police check posts will be set-up to keep the situation under check.”

Also to the PCR vans, five additional PCR vans will be added to the force to increase the Police presence.

DCP Sahoo said, “Drunk and driving cases are a major concern during this time so special attention will be paid to such cases so that any untoward situation can be avoided. Check posts will be put up across the City and regular checks will be performed.”
