Bhubaneswar: Four arms traders were arrested during a special drive, conducted jointly by Special Squad and Khandagiri police, against possession or sale of illegal fire arms in Bhubaneswar on October 28.

Reportedly, two .765 mm magazine loaded pistols, one 9 mm pistol, two six round revolvers, 11 rounds of live ammunitions, one Apache unnumbered bike, one auto rickshaw and one Alto Car were seized from their possession.

Reportedly, three separate cases under various sections of Arms Act had been registered against the accused at Khandagiri, Capital and Nayapalli police stations.

The accused have been identified as Ramachandra Barik (30) and Sanjay Kumar Jena alias Kalia (25), both residents of Puri district, Gyana Ranjan Singh alias Jilu (35) of Khurda and Gouranga Charana Sitha alias Gaura (35) of Nayagarh.

Meanwhile, their involvement in other cases is under investigation. Besides the source of procurement of the fire arms are also being verified.
