**Cuttack:** Chief Justice of India, Justice Dipak Mishra today attended the Valedictory Session of the National Seminar 2018 held at the Chief Justice Gatikrushna Misra Auditorium of the Odisha Judicial Academy in Cuttack today.
Around 140 delegates all over India attended the two days seminar, in which four technical sessions were conducted to deliberate on different subjects of legal importance.
Reportedly, a delegation of the agitating Orissa High Court lawyers met Justice Mishra after the event. He advised them to withdraw their agitation and resume the court work.
“We apprised the Chief Justice of India of our demands. He asked us to follow the legal procedure and resume our work. Decision regarding continuance of the agitation will be taken in the next general body meeting,” said secretary of High Court Bar Association, Satyabrata Mohanty.
The lawyers are staging a peaceful agitation today by wearing black badges as the security has been tightened in the High Court premises in respect to the visit of Justice Mishra.
Earlier on September 28, the lawyers had burnt the effigy of Justice Misra, protesting the Supreme Court’s order which directed them to resume work.
Justice Misra had on September 27 passed an order asking the Orissa High Court to ensure that lawyers end their strike and the court operations are resumed immediately.
