Bhubaneswar: Amid the escalating tension between India and Pakistan, after Pulwama terror attack and aerial strikes carried out by Indian Air Force (IAF) across the Line of Control (LoC), denizens of Smart City Bhubaneswar wish for peace between the two countries.
Twelve days after a suicide bomber killed 40 Central Reserve Police Force troopers in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, a group of IAF fighter jets on Tuesday attacked Balakot across the LoC to decimate a terror camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) that had claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing.
Later on Wednesday, fighter jets of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) violated Indian airspace but were pushed back by the India side. However, the IAF lost one MiG-21 with its pilot, who is reportedly in custody of Pakistan army.
Meanwhile, OMMCOM NEWS met some city denizens and captured their thoughts and opinions on the whole episode. They all agreed that war is never good but there should be a check on acts of terrorism in our country.
While one city resident said both countries will face heavy losses due to war and peace should be established in the Kashmir valley by put a check on the terrorist activities, another was of the opinon that war is also going to attack the country's economy and force us to go 10 years back, as had happened in the case of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Intellectuals of different countries should come together to find a solution to the issue, said a denizen. It will be a welcome step if the countries arrive on a solution without going to war, said another.
