Cuttack: The Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra on Sunday inaugurated the Orissa High Court Museum here.

Justice Misra was recently sworn in as the 45th Chief Justice of India two months back, succeeding Chief Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar. He is the third Odia to hold the prestigious position after Justice Ranganath Mishra and Justice Gopal Ballav Pattan.

Speaking to the media, Chief Justice Misra said, “ When a museum is established in a place, specially in a High court, it preserves memories. It also gives opportunities to see the judgments of the High Court since 1867. I congratulate the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, all the judges and bar association members who were instrumental in establishing the museum.”

Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, Vineet Saran said, “This is just the beginning. The museum will be upgraded and we will add certain things to it. In such a short period we could get only a few artifacts. The museum showcases history of the court and Odisha Judiciary.”
