Balasore/Kendrapada: Canvassing for votes in favour of BJP, the saffron party’s poster boy-cum-Prime Minister Narendra Modi today exuded confidence that change in Odisha is a foregone conclusion and appealed the voters to allow his party to serve Odisha for five years and promised for pacing up development five-time more than the incumbent State Government.

While addressing the voters in Balasore and Kendrapada parliamentary constituencies, Modi predicted, “Change of Odisha government is in the offing.”

Coaxing and cajoling the voters, he wooed, “Allow BJP to serve you at Bhubaneswar, in Odisha for five years. Whatever little works have been done in the last 19 years for the people’s benefit, may it be road or any other works, I’ll show you five-time more and better development than the present ones.”

Trying to touch the nerves and sway the people of Balasore into BJP’s favour, PM Modi said, “All of you have witnessed a few days ago how Balasore registered its name in the history. India has earned the capability of destroying space satellite in barely three minutes under its Mission Shakti programme. The missile was launched from this Balasore following which India is today the fourth nation in the world for owning this power.”

Earlier in his address at Barua ground in Kendrapada, he burst, “The youth of Odisha, who is the first time voter, is questioning why the State is so poor despite being replete with resources. This youth was born when the BJD Government was formed for the first time here. Why hasn’t migration from Odisha stopped yet? Why there is no industry here? Why there is no facility of irrigation? Why there is no cold storage here to store the farm produce? Why is Kendrapada, despite being the oldest municipality of Odisha, lacking all the basic amenities? Development is not the priority of Odisha Government, only hankering after power. The State Government has taken the voters for granted.”

“You have to think about a better alternative for your bright future. Hence, vote for BJP. A large chunk of Odisha is surrounded by sea coast. Here there are several scopes for development. There is also scope for industrialization. I’m working out with a big vision to make this entire coastal region the significant centre of new India,” averred  Modi.
