Centre Has Stopped KBK Yojana, But State Committed To Continue From Own Funds: Odisha CM

Nabarangpur: Addressing the gathering at Umerkote venue here in the tribal-dominated district soon after the inaugurations and foundation stones laying of a slew of projects, BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today took a dig at the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre.

The Chief Minister in his public speech burst, “Biju Janata Dal (BJD) believes in work. We are working dedicatedly for the development of KBK region. The NDA Government at the Centre has stopped the KBK Yojana. But, we will not allow developmental activities to stop in the region. The developmental activities will keep on going under the Biju KBK Yojana.”

“Similarly, the Central Government has also stopped the scholarships meant for the ST and SC students. But the State Government is providing to the students from own funds and it will continue,” he averred.

The Chief Minister further stated, “Our KALIA scheme has been a model countrywide. Lakhs of farmers have been benefited. This scheme of Odisha Government will continue in future. I have already announced scheme for benefitting the children of the KALIA beneficiaries to pursuing their higher education.”

“BJD is with you all and is working for you as well as continue to do,” the regional satrap asserted.
