Bhubaneswar: While two girls of Uttar Pradesh have topped in India by scoring 99.8% in CBSE Class 12, one Shalini Sheetal of Mother's Public School in capital city has topped in Odisha by securing 98.2%.
Shalini, a Science student thanked her parents and her teachers for guiding her throughout. She has scored 488 marks out of 500.
As per reports, she is interested in pursuing Computer Science Engineering.
While the Mother's has achieved 100% results, another girl named Ishita Patnaik of SAI International School has emerged topper in commerce stream by securing 97.2%.
In all India level, Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora were declared joint toppers in the Central Board of Secondary Education's Class 12 board exams with the overall pass percentage being 83.4 per cent.
The girls outshone boys this time by nine per cent with the pass percentage for boys being 79.40, while for girls it was 88.7.
The Trivandrum region emerged at the top with a pass percentage of 98.2 per cent. The Chennai region stood second with a pass percentage of 92.93 while Delhi stood at the third place with 91.87 per cent.
